4 months agoAmazing Persian food at Herby! The lamb chops were perfectly grilled and tender, the saffron rice was beautiful, and the hummus and eggplant dip (kashk bademjan) were rich and creamy, served with warm fresh bread. The fesenjan stew lived up to the hype too. Cozy spot, friendly service, and great value. Highly recommend for authentic Persian cuisine in Toronto. We'll be back!

5 months agoHad a great experience at Herby Restaurant. I ordered the King Platter and the Baghala Polo with lamb shank. Everything was really good. I mostly had the beef dishes, and they were tender and full of flavor. The food had a really nice herbal aroma that made everything even more enjoyable.

4 months agoThe food was absolutely delicious. We had the chicken koobideh and the vegan stew, and both dishes were packed with flavor. The rice was rich and buttery, we couldn’t stop eating it! What truly made the experience special was Orhan, whose warm hospitality made us feel right at home. His welcoming energy and genuine kindness created an atmosphere that was just as memorable as the food. We’ll definitely be back!

4 months agoWe had the most incredible experience at Herby. The hospitality and service is unparalleled and rare to find these days. We had the Vegan Gheymeh Bademjan and Chicken Koobideh which were delicious! Our server Orhan took incredible care of us and brought us complimentary dessert since we were celebrating a birthday. I highly recommend Herby - you will leave with a full stomach and heart. It’s a true gem in the Danforth.

3 months agoGreat food and service, and great value! Our server Rojan was genuinely so sweet and friendly. We got the two-person platter to share between three people and still took leftovers home.

2 weeks agoIf you are looking for an exceptional and authentic Persian dining experience, Herby Restaurant is an absolute standout. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but the food is the true star, offering a masterclass in rich, comforting Middle Eastern flavors. We started with an impressive spread of appetizers, and they did not disappoint. The Kashk-e Bademjan (eggplant dip) was perfectly creamy, savory, and deeply satisfying, pairing beautifully with their fresh bread. The marinated olives were a vibrant, flavorful start that set the stage for the rest of the meal. For the mains, our table shared a feast of classic dishes, and each one was flawless: Fesenjan: This walnut and pomegranate stew was rich, complex, and struck the perfect balance between sweet and tangy. Zereshk Polo ba Morgh: The chicken was incredibly tender, served alongside fragrant saffron rice studded with tart, bright barbe

4 weeks agoWent to dinner with my girlfriends for our bday celebration! Servers were so kind and thoughtful! Food was good and they brought us a surprise dessert. They also gave us a birthday card... I've never been given a bday card from a restaurant 🤩

2 months agoOrhan was a great server—very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. It tasted like it had been prepared earlier and reheated, and the quality was very disappointing. A restaurant serving Persian food should offer fresh, high-quality dishes, and at the very least, proper Persian rice. Sadly, the food did not meet our expectations.

2 months agoI wish I could give zero stars. This was by far the worst Persian restaurant experience we’ve had. The appetizers arrived cold, and the kabobs had a very unpleasant smell and seemed undercooked. The meat did not taste fresh at all, to the point that we couldn’t eat the food and asked for the check. For the quality of the food, the prices are outrageous. Our waiter was very nice and said he would talk to the owner about our concerns, but the owner refused to speak with us, and we were still charged the full amount for food we barely touched. We went on a Saturday night and, there was only one other table with customer. We were visiting Toronto and weren’t familiar with the restaurant beforehand, but unfortunately this was an extremely disappointing experience. I would not recommend it. Eat dry bread if you have to, but turn your back on this place!

Edited 2 years agoI don't want to be a bad person, but I wonder why their reviews points are that high ... as an iranian, their food was sort of garbage ... we ordered kashk bademjoon, which the eggplant was from can .. not cooked there with some watery kashk and fried onion from can also ... our kebabs were not good ... too dry, especially lamb koobideh 🤢and rice, was uncooked and hard to swallow.. and my friend ordered a celery stew, and it was like a nightmare if you wanna compare to the real one 🤮 very bad .... beyond bad , again wonder why they have these good reviews . I'm not going there, never... ever ,,, not recommended at all 🙈🤢 PS only their borani yogurt was good,

3 years agoFirst time trying Herby and I have to say that very low quality of food. Unbelievable! NOT a Persian food Taste at all! I ordered gheimeh with dolmeh on ubereats and the gheimeh was overlooked a lot and the taste was completely different than the actual taste. Very disappointed! The dolmeh was not good either( not fresh) and I threw them out!

3 months agoThe receptionist was very kind and helpful, but the food quality was disappointing. I ordered the Koobideh, and it was very fatty, low quality, and overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
