Girlies, when I say the service was nice I mean it! Firstly the staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home once you get through the door, the place is nice and neat with a really cool open concept design and the hair stylists are also knowledgeable! I went in to get my hair cut and styled into long layers, and I had Mikayla. Just to preface that my hair is pretty thin or fine so it’s difficult to have any volume and I’m limited in the kinds of cuts I can pull off. Dear, darling Mikayla to the rescue because she knows ball! She knew exactly how to handle my hair and give me a stunning haircut! I definitely recommend her :) (Also shoutout to the stylist that curled my hair!)

I originally booked an appointment with a senior stylist and was quoted over $120. When I arrived, it was clear that I wasn’t with a senior stylist, which made sense when my final total after tax came to around $70. It would have been nice if this change had been communicated beforehand. Victoria was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet and welcoming throughout the entire appointment, which took about two hours. She really listened to the style I wanted and did a beautiful job overall. The only thing I noticed was that after I left and about an hour had passed, I realized the curls at the back of my head had already fallen and probably needed to be curled a bit more. Since I couldn’t see the back of my head during the appointment, I didn’t notice it until later.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at this salon. When I booked my appointment, I specifically chose an employee based on availability, completely unaware that she had only recently started doing hair. At no point was I informed that she was a new stylist. Had I known, I would have made a different decision. I believe clients should be notified when they are booking with someone who is still very new to the profession so they can make an informed choice. I came into the appointment with a blonde balayage that had about five months of grow-out. My goal was simple: I wanted to refresh it into a caramel balayage and get a lob haircut. Before the cut, I clearly explained that I curl my hair often and wanted the final length to sit around my shoulders once it was curled. When I got home, I realized my haircut was uneven. I booked online to have an appointment with Victoria. I wanted to go from blonde back as close to my original color. When I got there clearly everyone was busy I was put with another girl who was currently already working on a client. She was nice and explained what options I could do. I still just agreed with going back to dark but not permanent. My hair was done in the washing bowl which was odd but fine, but she had to keep going back and forth between me and another client. Someone else conditioned my hair and another girl blow dried it. I didn't get it cut, I didn't get it styled and when I went to pay it was $300.. I have never paid that much for a semi permanent colour. I think that if it's going to cost that much someone should of explained at the start of my appointment. I looked at prices on the website and nothing comes close to that. I wish I had a better experience cause

I had an appointment with Nicole (I believe) and I loved it, she did a great job with the cut and colour :) She was a Master Stylist and was very thorough with the colour.

summer is the only stylist that i will let touch my hair and for good reason! she has never done me wrong, is so good at listening to and interpreting what her clients want, and her skills really show. i decided to change up my usual cut for something fun and new, and she delivered on that too! everyone at the salon is so friendly and great to talk to, plus everyone is pretty good at not bumping any of my healing piercings! keep up the great work!

Zoey was a graduate stylist who did my hair cut. She really took her time and did an amazing job. While being trained by her seniors, she executed the style I wanted perfectly. Really enjoyed chatting up with her as well. I definitely recommend Zoey. It was a great bob layered cut for $50 ! I only had wished straightening could be done faster, which I then later requested.

I highly recommend The Hair Company on Main Street in Newmarket! I loved that I was able to get an appointment the same day with my favorite Hair Stylist Jeff. The Hair Company salon is in a convenient location with lots of free parking spaces at the back. The salon is spacious, clean, relaxing and inviting. Jeff has been my go to hair stylist for many years. He consistently provides excellent hair services and a great impressive haircut! The salon speaks volumes to professionals focused on client satisfaction, excellent services and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you! See you next time.

I usually go to a European lady at sport clips and I should have done so again but I thought a salon would do a better job. I showed the photos of what I wanted (I had more than enough hair) and got nothing like it. I look like Lloyd Christmas with only a couple weeks now until my graduation. I paid $75 to look like a jerk. Now I have to go back to school like this. Here are the photos for proof. She took way too much off the top and sides. So now I have to finish the year with a bad bowl cut or cut it shorter. I even left a tip because I didn’t want to be mean. How much of a chump am I?

Went for a scheduled appointment with my preferred hair stylist and was intercepted by the OWNER of 'The Hair Company' named Theresa. She asked if she was able to cut and style my hair as opposed to the hairstylist I had waited 8 weeks to see. INSTEAD of Theresa cutting my hair (an experienced shop owner and hair stylist), she allowed a CO-OP student to cut my hair without permission?! Did NOT supervise properly as she was too busy chatting. I spoke to Theresa a few times as she walked by and instead of discussing what she was doing (having a co-op student do the FULL cut as opposed to doing it herself as she originally suggested), she was unprofessional and talked AT ME while explaining to the co-op student that I had NO idea why she was choosing to straighten, part and shorten my hair into a 'intergraded bob' at the back. I did NOT ask for a 'bob cut' in ANY FASHION. My bangs were not

3 weeks ago I had a service, after spending $200 and not having the hair colour my stylist and I were going for. I brought my concerns to the owner. The owner set up an appointment and she said she wanted to see my hair. When I got there she pulled me into her office just to tell me to tell me not come back as a customer after 4 years. This is how she she resolved the situation. Update - no I will not keep this private as you deliberately had me come to your salon "to see my hair" only just to be malicious and tell me not to come back.

I got my hair styled here for prom by Summer and just asked for curls—nothing complicated. By the time I got to my car, the curls were already falling out, and my hair looked frizzy and messy. For a special event like prom, this was really disappointing. The stylist clearly didn’t do a good job. She also assured me that my curls would not fall out multiple times. She said it would be $100 with tax at the start of the appointment and then charged me $120 for something that was not even worth $30 which I could have done myself. I would have gone someplace else if I knew. I left a good tip because I didn’t want to be rude. Overall really really disappointing and will not be coming here again.

The space is super relaxing, and the music was totally my vibe.

The staff is super friendly and overall a wonderful experience.
