Rumi’s Restaurant

We came here expecting average Turkish food but were pleasantly surprised. It’s a very nicely maintained place that is run by a very respectable, and hardworking family. I think their grandfather welcomed us and was really helpful in guiding us through the menu. We ended up ordering a bunch of things and also ordered their rice pudding dessert to end the night. Everything was fresh, flavorful and made from the heart. For me, the star of the show was their chicken and mushroom pide. I’ll go again to have it any day!!

Both the food and service were immaculate! We came at a pretty good time before the dinner rush showed up, and were seated in the best spot. Michael helped us and gave us great recommendations for what to order and we both loved the food. We ordered the iskander and the nasik dishes. Very flavourful and yummy. The dishes layered with eggplant are especially nice. Michael was kind and courteous throughout, and we even exchanged some nice stories - overall would definitely come back again for both the food and service!

We were greeted by Michael who was the sweetest and gave us incredible recommendations, we wanted to get everything but ended up ordering the shareable platter which gave us a taste of several menu items and we were blown away. The meat was good quality and well cooked (lamb was incredible) and all the accompaniments were so tasty. We can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely delicious İskender! The meat was tender, the tomato sauce was rich and flavorful, and everything was perfectly cooked. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Definitely one of the best İskender dishes I’ve had. Highly recommend this restaurant, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

He was incredibly warm, genuine, and down to earth, and you could immediately tell that he truly cares about his guests and the experience he creates. His staff were just as lovely, friendly, and welcoming, which made the whole evening feel so comfortable and personal. And the FOODDDD… honestly? top tier! 🤌🏼 Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. Every bite was better than the last! What really stood out to us was how much the whole experience felt like being welcomed into someone’s home rather than simply going out to a restaurant. Very authentic delicious Turkish food. Never tasted anything better. Everything is prepared fresh each day; which you taste. The owner is a lovely guy creating a warm and friendly atmosphere; making you feel like you are visiting beloved relatives that you haven’t seen for a long time.

The restaurant has a large and spacious environment, which is a positive point. However, unfortunately, the food was served very late and arrived cold. The quality of the meat was not satisfactory, and the baklava dessert did not taste fresh. In addition, when it came time to pay the bill, the staff were unable to split the check into two separate bills, which was inconvenient. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the wait time and food quality.

I’ve never experienced such poor service; I wanted to try this restaurant for the first time. As a Turkish person, the gentleman inside greeted me. I sat down at my table, he gave me the menu, and then never came back. He came over, asked some ridiculous questions, and left. I was sitting at the table waiting for him to come take my order, but he didn’t come. I couldn’t take it anymore, so I asked him, “If the order is going to take too long, I’m leaving,” Instead of taking my order, he told me, “If you order now, it’ll be ready in 40 minutes.” Hahaha, are you making fun of me? Even if you marinated and cooked raw meat from scratch, it wouldn’t take that long. Plus, I really didn’t like his attitude. I came there for the first time to try the restaurant, but I had to leave because of some irresponsible people. He can’t say the restaurant was busy because half of it was empty when I arriv

Terrible!!! The person who introduced himself as the owner was rather rude and unprofessional in his dealings with customers. When we first tried to order soup, he said, ‘We don’t serve soup in the summer—it’s far too hot; why would you want to drink soup?’ Then, when he went inside and came back, he said the soup was available. This shows he isn’t in control of his business. When we were getting ready to place our order, before we’d even had a chance to speak, he continued his rude behaviour by saying, ‘This isn’t Tim H.’s; you can’t just have soup here.’ This was our second visit, and on both visits we received terrible experiences. It is definitely not a good restaurant. If you want to go to real Turkish restaurant, please do not come this place!!!

I was quite dissatisfied. The food didn't come even though I asked many different servers 4-5 times. Every single order I had to remind them they completely forgot my table. The attitude was unbearable; they didn't care what they did. They said they were busy with event tables.

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. We found a hair in the dough of the balloon bread, which was served to my daughter. Shortly after that, there was a hair in the salad of my lahmacun. To make matters worse, a hair was found in the rice of my husband’s grilled dish. This is clearly not an isolated incident. Finding hair in multiple dishes strongly suggests a chronic hygiene issue in the kitchen. Cleanliness is a basic standard, especially for families with children. Sadly, we will not be returning and believe this restaurant needs serious hygiene control and attention.

Highly recommend this place for great Turkish food and excellent service!
