Food and entire team were fantastic. Sat on the patio for a lovely setting sun. Sharing platter for 2. Amazing sampling of Egyptian foods. The Dokka, Samara Baladi, Koshari, Tameya, ful and hummus. It was vegan and it was great. The Bird Nest Konafa was a tasty finish. Loved it. Will make it a regular choice.

You have to try the Koshari! I am so excited to try other things on the menu. Lovely owner/ staff gave tips on how food can be eaten. I've been meaning to go here for years. Finally , made it through summerlicious. I am excited already for their winterlicious. Though they were busy and food took a bit. Came quite hot and fresh! I forgot the soup picture - but it was so good! It is cozy as others have said- so large groups would need a major heads up.

Service is good and very fast. Food is amazing. I haven't had authentic Egyptian food before so I don't know how authentic it would be to an Egyptian person but it looked pretty authentic and tasted great. Dine-in area is small, seats around 15 people max so reservation is recommended for guaranteed seating. We visited around noon, right after they opened and we didn't need a reservation. The interior is nice, simple touches here and there that tie in really well with the theme. Highly recommended. Not cheap but not pricey at all

Enjoyed the food. Khosari was delicious, and so were the appetizers. Only 1 staff at the restaurant. The interior is nicely done. It was a Monday night but full house. Recommended!

Came for a meal before a concert nearby during the pre-rush so it was empty but the food and service was great. Good sampling of Egyptian food.

Absolutely awful! I missed koshari from my trip to Egypt and ordered from this place. I tasted it and couldn’t convince myself to take any more! Very sour tomato sauce and it’s way too salty. I threw away the entire box. Total WASTE of my money and TRASH is where you belong!

Had dinner here the other day and the atmosphere is so lovely! The service and food were both amazing, highly recommend the koshari.

Let me start with some context. I live in the States but travel to the GTA often for work. The last couple of times I’ve been here, I kept hearing about Papyrus and how good their koshari is. It had been on my must visit list, so when I landed this trip, it was one of the first places I wanted to try. I placed a takeout order for about $100 worth of food at 11 AM, before the restaurant opened at noon. I had somewhere to be afterward, so the plan was to pick it up and eat on the way or at my next stop. I arrived around 12:20 PM and, at almost the same time, found out my next appointment had been cancelled. My order still wasn’t ready, so I was asked to wait and took a seat. Since I was no longer in a rush and the restaurant was completely empty, I called my partner, who was waiting in the car, and figured we might as well eat there. Food was mediocre and honestly a bit pricey considering almost everything is vegetarian/vegan. But I’m not here to complain about the food. While some other reviewers mentioned that they appreciated the server (I’m assuming he is the owner) explaining how to eat every single dish, I personally found this overbearing and excessive. Setting this aside, my complaint is that this man had the audacity to lecture us regarding our tip after we paid (10%, which is the minimum next to no tip at all), which has never happened to me in any restaurant I’ve been to in my entire life. What this man needs to understand is that the tip is based on the service, and the service at this restaurant was barely there. Chicken bowl has barely any chicken and too heavily salted!

Had the strangest experience here. We were here for dinner today and the host/server either completely lacked manners or had a strong bias against persons of colour. He just rudely placed the orders on tables and we tried to gesture to him to get his attention but he just wasn’t interested. The only time he came to our table was to rudely interrupt about half an hour in and ask if we were done while we were still having our meals. We waited for almost 20 mins after we were done but couldn’t get him to have our bill. In the end, we had to go to the cash register ourselves to ask for the bill. We were ready to give him the benefit of doubt but when we brought it to his attention that we ordered an appetizer and it never arrived, he just shrugged it off like well, tough luck. The food was good so was the ambience but the server turned it into an appalling experience. Wouldn’t recommend.

We got the mixed platter (has multiple items on it so you can try multiple different 'Dishes'). I was disappointed to find that the portions was extremely small. And the food overall just did not seem very fresh/worthy of the $30+ cost for the one tasting dish. It had like 2 x quarter chunks of a pita, a small tomato/arugula salad, a bean tomato dip, and a very watery soup. Im sorry but this place wasn't good. There are much better options available east of this location.

A bit pricey for street food but quality eats and a classy atmosphere.
