We recently had our stairs renovated and had a really great experience. The quality of the work turned out beautifully and we’re very happy with the result. The team was professional, kind, and easy to work with. They were always polite and respectful of our space, which meant a lot—especially since we were living in the house during the renovation with a toddler. They made an effort every day to keep things as clean, organized, and safe as possible, which we really appreciated. Overall, it was a smooth and positive experience from start to finish. Custom Dream Stairs did an excellent job on our basement stairs. They came in above our budget, but compared to the other companies we talked to, they were better in every other way. Extremely disappointing experience. I purchased what was clearly specified and priced as solid wood steps, and even provided all required documentation. What I received was not solid wood, but a cheaper alternative passed off as the real thing. When I raised the issue, I was ignored by email and brushed off over the phone — the sales representative offered no solution and simply told me to “send an email.” This is dishonest business practice and a clear breach of trust. I am now left with no choice but to pursue legal and formal action. I would strongly advise others to avoid this supplier if you expect integrity and accountability in your purchases.

Prices are reasonable, profit margins must be high as most of the materials are sourced like everything else from China. Workmanship was shoddy and unprofessional and I had to hire a different company to repair my stairs after the installation. I could go one with specific details but I will not bother. I imagine I will receive a reply as this company is quite active on social media. Their reply will no doubt read we have no record of dealing with you or please call us so we can sort this out which is typical of the responses to other unsatisfied customers. I would not be surprised if most of the positive 5 star reviews are from family members or fictitious. I suggest you shop around and avoid this outlet as my dream stairs ended up being a nightmare. In reading the many reviews of others on Google about this company and the many responses, it is clear that these Google Reviews mean a lot to this company. I have struggled to write this, but the only saving grace was Hamed, who is one of their installers and did a good job. While I was in the store, the two owners whispered to each other in another language several times while discussing several details with me. I found this to be very rude and offensive. As a person who speaks English as a second language I was taught at a young age to always include others with a common language. I hope this feedback to the owners is helpful moving forward. I bought pickets from Custom Dream Stairs and unfortunately, i feel like i was robbed. Found the seller on kijiji and he was very responsive even on a Sunday morning.We agreed on the price per picket and then time to meet. When i arrived to his store, the price suddenly doubled, as he started adding parts (shoes, adjustable bracket etc), even though we discussed with him that i will need those before i went to see him. I was in a rush to get the pickets installed before my trip so i agreed to pay the extra just to get the job done. He kept convincing me that these pickets are better then solid and since at the time i wasn't knowledgable in this matter i trusted him and purchased them. When none of the installers agreed to install these pickets as they were not the solid ones, i called him back to see if he can install them or allow me to return those. Contractor was hired to remove carpet in living room master bedroom family room upstairs and stairs and replace same with hardwood flooring. Work process was not detailed in contract and I asked Hameed about the work process and job specifics and he assured everything would be done and I would love my new flooring. Turned out never trust anyone who insisted that everything will be okay. Sloppy job has totally devalued my property and I m still waiting for him to finish the job.
