Afghan Cuisine Restaurant

We had a pleasant experience on our first visit there. We tried the Chef's special and Lamb Shank plates. The Lamb Shank was sooooo sooooo good, but the chicken tikka was pretty dry. Their white sauce and the naan bread were really good. The naan was freshly baked and the sauce complemented all the food really well. Their Kabuli pulaw wasn't too sweet, if that's a concern for you. The interior was really nice and had a retro diner-like vibe. The server was really nice and we had a pleasant conversation regarding ordering food. She was spot on: "Lamb Shank" was the way to go. The only thing I would ask to improve would be to avoid overcooking the chicken. Also, damn! What's up with using candle vases for water cups? Overall : 4/5

I had a great experience! The Afghan food was absolutely delicious, everything was fresh, full of authentic flavors, and cooked perfectly. The portions were generous, and you can really tell they put care into every dish. The service was just as impressive. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

I absolutely love this restaurant! I come here every time to try a different plate, and it’s always the same high quality and generous quantity. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. On top of that, the hospitality is amazing—the staff are so welcoming and treat you with genuine care. Very delicious food in this cozy authentic Afghan restaurant. The menu is convenient with nice combos. The food is fresh and very delicious. Staff is extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Our order was served quickly enough. We asked for the chicken to be cooked to make it tender and juicy and so it was. The spice level is excellent, as we are not the fans of spicy food at all. Special thanks for the mango shake!!! The prices are good. We will definitely come back to try other dishes.

What a wonderful find! The food at Afghan Cuisine is absolutely delicious: fresh, generous, and full of authentic flavour. Every dish tasted like it was made with real care, from the perfectly seasoned rice to the tender, beautifully spiced meats. You can tell this is cooking that comes from tradition and pride. What makes this place truly special, though, is the people. The owner, Muhammad, is warm and welcoming and makes you feel like a guest in his own home. Belquis and Adeeba were fantastic too: friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind. They made sure we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed every bite. Great food, great hospitality, and a lovely atmosphere. I'll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Afghan meal. I got to try this restaurant yesterday for the first time and I will definitely be going back. The service was excellent, very kind and attentive staff. I got the Beef Tikka + Chaplee Dinner and the Mantu Dumplings. All of the food was hot and fresh, very flavourful with all of the spices, the Chaplee was my favourite and the salad. The salad was fresh, lettuce was nice and crisp and the dressing was tasty! There was a gentleman dining in the restaurant who was so kind he gave us his order of fries while we waited, they were hot, crispy and thy were seasoned with a spice, they mentioned this was an off menu item. The restaurant was super clean including the restrooms. It’s in a great location with lots of parking and close access to the TTC. Can’t wait to go back!

Great meal I ever had

I recently ordered takeout from Afghan Cuisine on Overlea Blvd, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The food was quite expensive for what we received. They charged $21 for just 3 Chapli kebabs, which I found extremely overpriced for the portion and quality. We also ordered 2 chicken platters along with the 3 Chapli kebabs. The chicken platters came with only chicken and rice, no salad or anything else on the side. For the price they charge, I expected a more complete meal. On top of that, despite asking the lady for some extra sauce, we were given only 1 red chili sauce and 1 white sauce for the entire order. That’s simply not enough for multiple platters and kebabs. Overall, I found the food pretty ordinary considering the prices, and the portions and extras were very disappointing. Unfortunately, I won’t be ordering from Afghan Cuisine again. 😒

I ordered Chicken Karahi today and it was a very disappointing experience. The naan bread they served was clearly old and extremely hard, not fresh at all. The Chicken Karahi itself was not properly cooked — the tomatoes were still raw and had a strong unpleasant smell, which made the dish very difficult to eat. It honestly felt like the food was rushed or not prepared properly. For a meal that cost $47this quality is completely unacceptable. Customers expect fresh naan and properly cooked food when paying this much. Very disappointing experience and I hope the restaurant improves their food quality and freshnes

First time going to this restaurant and I didn’t know what to order. The lady at the counter was very nice, she helped me decide what to order. The food was awesome and good portion. I will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with this experience. When I arrived at the restaurant on Monday, the 22nd, I encountered serious shortcomings, particularly regarding the cleanliness of the restroom. The restroom was not hygienic, and there were no tissues or toilet paper. The lack of such a basic necessity was unacceptable and left a negative impression of the restaurant. When I reported the situation to the employee, they said they were the manager. However, I did not find their approach and behavior professional, and I disliked their customer service style. I would have preferred a more problem-solving approach. I expect more attention to be paid to cleanliness and customer service.

I ordered the fried tilapia for takeout and was extremely disappointed when I got home after a long drive I discovered that it was extremely dry and completely inedible. It seems as if it was refried, the chutney tasted weird as well as if it went bad.

Great portion of food, chicken and beef well cooked and tasty!

Staff appeared happy to work and serve customers.
