4 months agoPamenar is one of those places you visit for its unique atmosphere and vibe. For me, it’s the best spot in downtown to spend some enjoyable time. The owner Pouria is welcoming, and the quality of service along with the cozy bar environment is excellent. It’s a distinct and enjoyable experience in Toronto that I highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy a great drink in a cool setting.

a year agoDrink Quality: 4/5 Drink Selection: 3/5 Pastry Quality: 3/5 Pastry Selection: 2.5/5 Price: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Service: 2.5/5 Cleanliness: 3/5 Location: 3.5/5 Located in Kensington Market, this café offers both front and back patios, with ample workspace and accessible outlets for electronic devices. A medium latte costs $5 (before tax and tip), and while the drink quality is solid, the selection is fairly average. The interior has a minimalist look, with functional seats and a casual, unpretentious atmosphere. While this simplicity may appeal to some, others might find it lacking in character or intentional design. A "grenade" art piece (see picture) at the entrance seems to convey a political message, which could be potentially off-putting for some. The back patio has a welcoming, homey atmosphere, enhanced by shade from apple trees. However, the lack of air conditioning can make

a year agoCharming little spot in Kensington! We came for drinks on a Friday night and sat out on the patio, which was super cozy with apple trees growing through it and twinkle lights overhead. The espresso martini was fantastic.

5 months agothe service has never been good in the dozen or so times I’ve been but whatever I grab a decent coffee and I leave. today though the server paused twice while making of my drink, first to clear other peoples dirty dishes, and the second time to pull a tissue out of their pocket and blow their nose… just to place said tissue back in their pocket and continue on. at no point were hands washed so today I got my coffee with a side of their snot and other peoples germs… nice.

2 years agoLove this hole in the wall cafe beside a bike store. They have a variety of coffee, tea, beer, and other alcoholic drinks. They encourage you to not bring your laptops but instead to be offline and talk to each other. They also have a patio at the back and washroom in the basement.

3 weeks agoAn amazing little hole in the wall. Great service, great coffee, fantastic food. I had the grilled cheese sandwich, a macchiato and a very tasty tahini chocolate chip cookie, which was amazing, even if it only had 2 or 3 chocolate chips!
classy cool
a month agoDrink and food options are very limited. Not impressed. However, great location and atmosphere. Patio is a hidden gem.

2 years agoService was not great, ordered a matcha latte and they didn’t ask if I wanted iced or hot. Also I know the no laptop rule after 6pm but the constant reminders of “15 minutes left” “10 minutes left” “5 minutes left” is very frustrating. Also there were people smoking at the patio and it really smells bad because their doors and windows are fully open

8 years agoI made a visit to this cafe on Sat. May 19th at around 12:30. I just had to write this review because I have never been to such an uninviting and sour faced place in all my life. The counter server and barrista were the most two unpleasant persons I have come across. I mentioned to the counter person that the croissants were totally exposed on the counter and should be covered. I said it was unsanitary with people talking over them and possible sneezing and coughing on them. The counter person then contradicted me and said, “no this was not the case and it was not a problem”. I then waited at the end of the counter for my coffee order and I attempted small talk with the barrista who would not respond to me at all. There was not even a greeting of a hello when I arrived and definitely not a “thanks for coming” when I left. Do they think they are the only coffee establishment in Kensington

8 months agoI was visiting a friend who was staying in the hostel across the street. We met at this cafe everyday (3 mornings in a row) each of us bought a coffee and small item. Food was very good. On the 4th morning I met up like usual with the three of us, except this time I didn’t get a coffee or treat. Each of my friends did and we sat down. Shortly after sitting down I was asked to buy something or leave. Staff was rude, especially the younger male worker. (Very tired and grumpy). Extremely unwelcoming cafe.

3 years ago4.6. Love this cafe. Great space and amazing back patio to read/catch up with a friend/have coffee. The chai concentrate is made in house, also highly recommend the ice tea or breakfast cookie. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They have lots of milk alternatives if needed
