Edited 2 months agoWent in late at midnight for a MRI scan, was asked to enter from the emergency entrance due to probably after hours and it was weekend. It was a zoo as all emergency room like yet it was not jammed packed with people, then not knowing where to get to the floor where “Medical Imaging” located, both person (a “cold” paramedic woman and a “cold” nurse) went up pointed to the “Security”, which was empty for 30 minutes when waiting for him or her to return, then thinking that the appointment could get cancel if arrived late, fortunately this receptionist (didn’t catch her name but she was great, she gets 5 out 5 stars) behind emergency registration counter helped instruct the route to the elevator to the 3 floor. At last a girl named Mary came as the assistant and the MRI scan was smooth. Guess it really tells you we desperately need more medical staffs to boost the service quality in Canada.

a month agoI was admitted to this hospital by my neurologist at Sunnybrook following a recent diagnosis of a serious neuromuscular autoimmune disorder, and I ended up staying for approximately 10 days. From the moment I arrived through the emergency department, things moved relatively smoothly. The wait for an inpatient bed was understandably long and tiring, but I recognize that hospital capacity and wait times are an issue being experienced across Canada and aren’t necessarily a reflection of the quality of care at this hospital. Once I was admitted to my room, however, the care I received was absolutely exceptional. I was genuinely surprised by how attentive, compassionate and thorough my medical team was. I was regularly visited by my doctors and kept informed about what was happening throughout my stay. Bloodwork, breathing tests, physician notes and updates to my PLEX treatments were uploa

6 months agoI’ve passed through the emergency area here a few times, and the experience there can be intense. The environment isn’t always the cleanest or most pleasant — there are moments where it feels overwhelmed, especially late at night. That said, it’s important to understand the context. Emergency departments deal with extremely high-pressure situations, including mental health crises and a constant flow of patients, which clearly impacts the environment. The staff here deserve credit — from what I’ve observed, they’re working under very demanding conditions and handling it as best as they can. Outside of emergency, the hospital feels more maintained and organized. My interactions with the lab team have been consistently positive — professional, efficient, and respectful. Security is also very active, which makes sense given the volume and type of situations happening around the emergency a

2 months agoThank You to the 9th Floor B Team I would like to take a moment to recognize the incredible care my mom received at the hospital, especially from the amazing nurses and staff on 9th Floor B. From the moment we arrived through Emergency, to the doctors, nurses, and PCAs, everyone was compassionate, professional, patient, and caring. We truly felt that my mom was in good hands. There is two nurses in particular who I would like to recognize. Her kindness, compassion, caring nature, and exceptional bedside manner stood out to our family. One was Doma ❤️and a polish ❤️which I didn’t get her name. She treated my mom with such dignity and patience, and we will never forget the comfort and reassurance she gave us during a very difficult time. Thank you 😊

a week agoWe had a difficulty To get to the Hospital because of the congestion created by changing of the electricity wires. Olivia has that city running like a full blast engine. Compare with 🇷🇺 Rusia we are a Paradise that not even the 🇺🇸 USA can’t compete with. Do you know that 🇷🇺 Rusia open the doors to Chinese workers to replaced the armies casualties and guess what; they have no money to pay them. The poor Chinese workers are marching around protesting; asking Putin to pay them. Read and search for the truth; Because Rogers; keep us on a loop of 3 news per day that not even a 7.7earthquake in Panama 🇵🇦 last week; that to this day Canadians know anything about. That is ROYERS for us. Back to the experience; The Toronto Western Hospital is a City on is one; I went there to see my eyes specialist Dr Mason a good 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 gentle professional and his technician that both make a good team to attend

a day agoYou go as emergency and they send back next day referral. Then you next day referral at same hospital then Dr ask you if have seen other dr then why did you come here. I am not sure why they woke as a dr. No one has time to go and sit hours in hospital unless they are suffering with disease. This is terrible service, questions instead doing their job. This all government system need to change as they gave too much power to drs and hospital.

5 days agoHaving had so many surgical repairs, I am often told, though I fervently disagree, that I am the poster child of our Healthcare system. I want to mention that after my ATFL reconstruction I had excellent care from Dr Lau and Barbara. Just as important, I want to applaud Luci and Jeff, orthopedic techs that have provided personalized care and support! Thank you, this made a world of difference!

a month agoDo yourself a favor and go somewhere else. My experience at this hospital was absolutely unacceptable. I waited 7 HOURS to see a doctor and get an MRI, only to be told after all that waiting that the MRI was not even available. Seven hours of my time completely wasted, with no one bothering to tell me this sooner. How can a hospital let a patient sit there for 7 hours and then only at the end say that the test they came in for isn’t available? This is beyond frustrating — it is a complete failure of communication, organization, and basic patient care. If the MRI was unavailable, I should have been told immediately so I could go somewhere else and get the care I needed. Instead, I was left waiting for hours for absolutely nothing. I strongly recommend that people avoid this hospital if they have another option. Based on my experience, the level of organization and communication was te

3 months agoAvoid this hospital if you care about your life and dignity. On Friday, July 10, 2026, at 4:00 PM, I went to their Emergency Department after a recent surgery, experiencing excruciating pain (10/10) and severe swelling. Instead of receiving medical help, I was met with shocking hostility, complete coldness, and utter contempt from the staff. Even though I was crying and begging for help, they actually called security on me while I waited in agony for three hours. Their abusive and unprofessional behavior ultimately forced me to leave without even being examined by a doctor. This is a terrifying violation of patient safety. To make it worse, I contacted their 'Patient Relations' department to report this, but they completely ignored me. They do not care about patients, and their administration does not care about complaints. Truly a shameful and inhumane experience."💔

3 months agoI came to Toronto Western’s emergency department with what I believe is a serious ankle injury. At triage, I felt my injury was not properly assessed. My ankle and foot were not examined, I was not offered ice or elevation, and I was sent directly to the waiting room. While waiting, my condition worsened. I lost sensation in my foot and eventually my entire calf became numb, and I was unable to bear any weight on the injured leg. Despite informing staff that my symptoms had changed, I felt my concerns were not taken seriously. During my wait, I also observed the triage area being occupied for an extended period by conversations between staff and paramedics that included gossiping and profanity. Specifically the nurse at triage 2 ( the nurse from 11pm onwards) was cussing screaming the F word and gossiping for up to 30 minutes and everyone could hear it in the waiting room. There was al

6 months agoThis was one of the most alarming and unacceptable medical experiences I have ever witnessed. My father, presenting with clear, textbook signs of cauda equina syndrome—including severe bilateral leg pain, progressive weakness, saddle-region sensory changes, and loss of bowel function—was not treated with the urgency this condition demands. Instead, we were told to wait two weeks for surgery, despite MRI confirmation of compression of the cauda equina. Let me be very clear: this is not a “wait and see” condition. Cauda equina syndrome is a time-sensitive neurological emergency, where delays can result in permanent paralysis, lifelong incontinence, and irreversible nerve damage. Every hour matters. Discharging a patient in this condition—or suggesting a delay of this magnitude—is not just poor judgment, it is dangerous and negligent. We were forced to advocate aggressively just to be t

5 months agoThe money donated to this hospital clearly does not go towards patient care or the upkeep of patient rooms. The nursing team, although mostly extremely attentive and kind, is incredibly short staffed. Patients have to wait two hours in their own filth to be changed. The hospital administration either has no actual idea what the conditions are at this hospital for patients and nurses or they do not care.
