5 months agoWe brought our dog Oscar to K9 Academy for a month of training, and it honestly changed everything for us. Oscar is part German Shepherd and part Husky which, if you know those breeds, means he’s incredibly loyal, protective, and territorial. The challenge was that he didn’t always know where the line was. He struggled with aggression toward other dogs, especially males, and at one point, he simply couldn’t be trusted in those situations. It wasn’t about him being a “bad dog” it was about him doing exactly what he was bred to do, just without the guidance to manage it properly. After his time at K9 Academy, we saw a completely different dog. When we picked him up, we didn’t just get Oscar back, we were given the tools to understand him. The training sessions with Anesh and team were just as valuable for us as they were for him. We learned how to read his behavior, how to handle him in

5 months agoFirst time dog owner here. Took my puppy to K9 Academy for puppy school. Then enrolled him in Level 1 obedience and then advanced obedience at K9 Academy. Sophie and Anesh and the staff taught me so much about training. They are a wealth of knowledge! Humphrey is so well trained now and we have a great time together. Sophie and Anesh go above and beyond and provide individualized support for the dog's particular needs. I highly recommend K9 Academy for your dog's training needs!!

7 months agoAfter struggling for almost two years with multiple trainers across Toronto and Gta , we finally found Anish at K9 Academy, and it completely changed things for our Husky, Sky. No one had been able to properly train Sky before, but Anish did what felt almost impossible. Today Sky is extremely well behaved, listens very well, and walks perfectly without pulling on the leash. Even after completing the 3-month program, we still send Sky to Anish two or three times a month for refreshers/Boarding. Anish is always very accommodating and takes great care of him. Honestly, Anish has been a blessing for us and for Sky. If you’re struggling with training your dog, I highly recommend K9 Academy and Anish.

5 months agoExcellent off leash obedience training by a great team of caring dog trainers. My GSD Freyja has so much enjoyment off leash hiking, running and is so well trained people often comment and ask about her training and I refer them to K9Academy!

5 months agoWhen we first brought Dharma our American Bully to Anesh and his team she was more than a handful for us. The K9 team guided us to what we now have is a dog that respects our commands and walks like we don’t even have a leash on her. I would highly recommend K9 Academy to anyone that dreams of having a very disciplined, happy dog. Thank you Anesh and Sophie.

6 days agoI watched your beginner video. The poor beagle has a prong collar on him. He is quite stressed. You can tell by the shake at the end. Good trainers don't need to use aversive methods?

Edited 3 weeks agoI was a long-term client of K9 Academy and had a very positive experience with their dog training. Unfortunately, my experience with their boarding service was very different. After a 9-day stay, my dog came home with open sores on her right elbow and rear paw. The elbow wound was infected and had pus. I noticed the injuries within minutes of bringing her home, and veterinary treatment cost $583.42. Later, she got a stitch to help the wound close. I was told the injuries resulted from her licking herself while crated and that, in the future, I should crate her at home so she would be less stressed during boarding. K9 Academy had previously trained my dog, and they were aware that she was not routinely crated at home. I was never advised before boarding that crate training was necessary. I was subsequently told that dogs are crated whenever unsupervised and overnight, resulting in sig

4 weeks agoI was initially hesitant to do a two-week board-and-train program with K9 Academy because our 1.5-year-old Goldendoodle was already a pretty “easy” dog. His main issue was overexcitement—jumping on guests, barking, and becoming so distracted on walks that his training would disappear. I’m so glad we did it. The difference has been much bigger than I expected. My dog is calmer, more reliable, and able to settle on Place, which has made everyday life at home noticeably easier. I trust him so much more and feel like I can simply enjoy him more. I was also initially uncomfortable with the prong collar and e-collar, but I’ve become comfortable with how they are used and have seen a real improvement in my dog’s ability to regulate himself. For us, the board and train was absolutely worth the investment. Having experienced trainers establish such a strong foundation over two concentrated wee

Edited 4 weeks agoCan’t say enough wonderful things about Sophie and K9 Academy! I turned to them for help with reactivity, aggression, and separation anxiety my rescue shepherd mix was struggling with. We’re not even half way through the class pack and it’s already night and day difference in almost everything. I’m so excited to keep working with them and see how my dog continues to grow her confidence. I also love their daycare service and shuttle. Highly highly recommend! Update: After working through the program, my dog can now safely be left home alone. She also has incredible obedience skills now. This program changed my life and hers, and we even have group classes leftover! So so grateful to K9 Academy for helping my dog and I.
