Mellat Fine Foods

This is such a lovely Iranian and Persian grocery store! The shop is always clean, organized, and well stocked with a wide variety of products. They carry many unique Persian spices, ingredients, snacks, pantry staples, and specialty items that can sometimes be difficult to find at regular grocery stores. It’s a great place to explore if you enjoy Persian cooking or want to try something new. I’ve purchased both groceries and fresh meat from here on several occasions, and everything has consistently been good quality. The meat has always been fresh, and the selection makes it convenient to pick up everything needed for a complete meal in one place. We also tried their freshly made kabobs, and they were absolutely delicious! The meat was tender, flavourful, and cooked perfectly. Honestly, the kabobs were every bit as good as what you would expect from a sit-down Persian restaurant. It’s

This is a very good Persian grocery store. I don't understand the negative Google reviews. I am not a Persian person and wanted to get the yoghurt - specifically, Mint Doogh Persian drink. I purchased the Elegant brand Doogh Persian drink. The staff working at the cash register was very welcoming and also checked me out fast. Also, the bakery section had nice fresh beef samosas on special and cheese and spinach pastries. If anyone is looking for samosas or want to try out the freshly baked spinach/cheese pastries or looking for Persian groceries, I suggest to check out Mellat Fine Foods. This is a very nice store with good staff.

We always buy meat for our friend Shish kebabs from this store, and the quality is consistently excellent. The meat is always fresh, well-prepared, and perfect for barbecue and kebabs. A special thank you to Hamid, who is always friendly, professional, and very helpful. He takes the time to communicate with customers, answer questions, and make sure everyone gets exactly what they need. His customer service is outstanding, and he always goes the extra mile to make customers happy. Highly recommend this store for great quality meat, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely keep coming back! 👍🥩🔥

I had a really disappointing experience at Mellat Fine Foods on Bathurst Street in Richmond Hill, and I honestly can’t recommend it. Service & Atmosphere: The service was lacking. Staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, which made the whole visit feel unwelcoming. While the store might have a decent selection, the overall vibe was not pleasant enough to make me want to browse or shop comfortably. Product Quality & Pricing: I found the quality of the products to be hit-or-miss, and the pricing seemed steep for what you actually get. I’ve had better experiences at other local grocers where the produce is fresher and the prices are more reasonable. It felt like I was paying a premium for a subpar experience. Overall: Between the lackluster service and the questionable value, this location didn’t meet my expectations. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Not recommended

Mellat Supermarket offers a great variety of products at competitive prices. The shopping experience was satisfying overall. However, the selection of fresh and frozen vegetables could be improved. Still, it’s a great place to shop, and I’ll definitely come back again.

Given this place a few chances over the years but selection of meats at butcher and halal prepackaged meats are very limited. Almost doesn’t make sense to even offer halal meat if you’re not going to stock more than a few items, no bologna, no hotdogs or sausages etc. The store’s regular Iranian selection of grocery items is fine but I see why the reviews are skewing negative. Store doesn’t offer any unique utility that other local Persian grocers don’t.

Food is great. And good ammount of food as well

I bought a bag of sunflower seed from this store today. When I opened it at home, ir was clearly spoiled and had a strong bad smell. I called the store, but they refused a return because the package was opened—which makes no sense since there’s no way to check without opening it. Very disappointing and concerning from a food safety standpoint.

I ordered a plate of kubideh kebab from this place. The rice was terrible, I couldn’t even eat it. It had a strong smell of old, leftover oil. The kebab itself wasn’t good at all. I do not recommend this place at all and I will never order from here again.

We bought jumbo egg from Melat fine foods and this is ended up with .one bleedy egg and one frozen egg..I through the whole thing in garbage. I was there to explain to manager noone was there to even apologize. So highly not recommended with this kind of customer service and quality food .

Ready meals are disgusting!!! The meat in the khoresht is very tough and tastes old. The actual khoresht part is 90% cheap, re-used oil. It was so bad that we ended up giving the kids eggs to eat for dinner because I didn’t want them to get sick. We tried to eat it ourselves and the smell and taste were so bad that we ended up throwing it all away. I would stay far far away from ordering food from here!

Bought two racks of lamb chop . Mr Hamid the butcher prepared it very well and professionally cleaned up the meat for shishlik. It seems he is new in this place and does amazing job. Hope he would stay to provide the same high quality of meats. Thank you.

I went to Melat for some sour plums, and the lady working there was so kind. She actually took the time to go to the back and bring me a fresh batch. Such great customer service and really appreciated her kindness!

I found warm and pleasant places that I bought the marinated meat and chicken. By good quality. I bought *Asgari Grape as well. I love that.

The staff is friendly, and it offers a great selection of Iranian products.

Convenience location, helpful stuff, excellent customer service, and great price

I ordered a plate of kubideh kebab from this place.
