This school is way too strict and made me feel unsafe and disrespected. I had an extremely bad experience with the administration and some staff members. I felt humiliated after being called things like “a horrible kid,” “a disgrace,” and “a waste of 9 months” in front of my mother over something very minor. I also felt physically mistreated by staff, which should never happen to any student. On top of that, almost every website is blocked, making it frustrating to even do basic work or research. Students deserve to feel respected and supported at school, not insulted or scared to speak up DO. BETTER
This school board is very bad. My 11 year old boy was mistreated and was humiliated by all the school staff. I recommend you just enroll your kid in private school to avoid all the blocked website, bad staff, and get way better education
Love this school board. There is consistent professional development for teachers to further their instructional leadership and drive modern education. Their genuine commitment to Indigenous reconciliation, anti-racism, and the principles of Black excellence is reflected in meaningful action, not just words. Teachers offer strong student supports and a clear focus on academic excellence. Overall, YRDSB creates an inclusive, forward-thinking environment where all students can thrive and feel included. I would highly recommend sending any student to this school board.
The teachers are extremely unprepared. My friends finished a test once and they were playing tic tac toe and the teacher thought they were cheating. They put up the tic tac toe paper for proof but the teacher still failed them for no reason. Most of the teachers show favouritism towards a few individual students. They also are not prepared with learning materials. They literally show us videos instead of walking up to the board to teach us. They also don’t care about bullying. Most of them turn a blind eye towards mental health.
Only a few schools are good and when selecting schedules they literally give you random courses you didn't select that aren't requirements sometimes (holy cooked) New Jersey is way better
Terrible over the phone experience. The woman was rude and spoke over me when trying to explain to her my position. I understand her knowledge of yrdsb is greater then mine but that is to be expected.
This administration is a complete joke ik you gotta take somethings seriously but this administration takes exverything too seriously and makes such a big deal out of small things. Its insufferable, their policies and leaders and how they assert authority and do not listen
Great school, I am not able to go but great school.
This school board changed my life, just because it was within walking distance of Water Fountain, Aurora

7 years agoI read some people experiences and I understand that they are disappointed. But as an experienced Google Reviewer and local guide I am sharing a good experience here. It is Sixteenth Avenue Public School. The new principal is amazing. Tim Gervais was like wind of changes from last year. The team working with him seems like to be flourished as they are fantastic as well. Lara Loseto, Lezlie Hood, Cathy Williamson, and all others are making this school atmosphere so good. I can't share what was happening to my son before them and with their help, he just passed those bad times. I haven't seen anything wrong with other student. The team is very active. As an instance, this September we could see a totally renovated front yard which is much much safer now in the winter. An special special thanks to Ms.Guo and other teachers which I will add their names.
Almost all of the furniture and supplies are chipped and/or don't work anymore.
