Unique Cake & Cafe

What a great spot!! My husband came across a post about Unique Cake & Cafe and off we went to check it out. The selection of cakes, cookies, and desserts is unbelievable, the toughest part of the visit was deciding what to choose! We also got an oat latte and raspberry lemonade, both were delicious. The staff are friendly, give great service, and take great pride in providing high quality products. We will absolutely be back to visit the beautiful cafe. My only suggestion is little signs beside the desserts available would be helpful... By customers but also likely from your very patient team member who answered my myriad of questions as I tried to make up my mind. 😄

this is truly a hidden gem in oshawa, it is delicious and very affordable! i would highly recommend everyone to check this place out. their best item was the afghani ice cream, that is a must try (it was gone before i could even take a photo of it!)

Best place to buy a birthday cake or any kind of cake for your event! The work is perfect, high quality, and made with care. The people are honest and very professional. I highly recommend them to everyone.

An absolute hidden gem! Unique Cake & Café never disappoints. Having ordered their custom cakes for multiple family birthdays, I can vouch for their consistent perfection in taste and presentation. Their new café location is stunning, cozy, and offers the most delicious treats in town (Layers of Love, Sips of Joy is so true!). Great service, beautiful ambiance, and incredible pastries. Five stars all the way!

What a lovely experience! 💕 From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by all the little details in the decor. It’s such a cute, girly café, and everything looks beautiful and thoughtfully put together without looking cheap. Our cookies were served warm (such a nice touch!), the presentation was fantastic, and our drinks were beautifully served too. ☕🍪 This is a brand-new café in the area, and I really hope more people discover it because it deserves all the love and support! Definitely worth checking out. 💗

The atmosphere is really pretty and very feminine, BUT when I walked in there was no where to sit as tables still had left over empties on it that hadn’t yet been collected, I actually had to inquire on where to sit. The items on the menu shown is not what they have in store my daughter wanted the Oreo cookie as advertised, and when given it was a macadamia cookie w Oreos baked in it, nothing to what the photo shown on the menu, which was very disappointing, when I inquired on why I was told the “menu had changed”. The waitress though was extremely polite and respectful, she even went above and beyond to make sure the customers were happy, she even tried to recreate the cookie shown on menu as she knew my daughter was upset. Unique atmosphere, unique service, unique sweets, unique everything !

Unfortunately, Unique Cake and Cafe just wasn’t for me. The coffee tasted more like milk than coffee and lacked the flavor I look for in a good cup. Overall, it didn’t have the atmosphere or coffee experience I want from a cafe, so I wouldn’t return.

Ordered a custom cake, spelt the name wrong and icing colour was off which they cut the price in half from $120 to $60. Although that was appreciated once we served and tasted the cake we quickly realized this was not edible. Party guests described it as “bug spray flavour” and I couldn’t disagree. Middle of cake was wet and fell apart when we cut it. Really frustrating to spend that kind of money for a cake that legit couldn’t be eaten and dumped into the garbage Edit: Owner challenged the quality and taste in the response, but we had at least 10-15 people at our party try and not be able to eat the cake. Flavour was so bad no one could eat, legit tasted like chemicals. Not making that up and that’s not only my opinion, that’s the opinion of everyone in attendance that tried the cake.

came in to buy a slice of biscoff cheesecake that was on display, they let us know it was a day old and didn’t want to serve it to us. we said we didn’t care about it not being fresh, and would like to purchase a slice, they refused, and tried to offer a slice of an entirely different tres leches cheesecake (and was labeled as such) saying it was the same as the biscoff, which it clearly wasn’t, and would take it in the back and add a biscoff cookie to it for us. after saying we didn’t want the alternative and were going to leave, they offered it to us for free. that is not the point, we just wanted the product we were requesting and found it very odd that they would not sell it to us and they acted very uncomfortable about us asking for it. why have product on display that you are not willing to sell and try to trick me into an alternative that is clearly not the same product? strange.

Went to this little Cafe it looked cute in the pictures so we gave it a try. My 2 stars is because the decor was beautiful when you walk in its like a fantasy, very clean inside, bathroom super clean. That being said we ordered 2 pieces of cake, an espresso and a cappuccino. Server was nice and brought us a third piece of cake to try, I think because the debit machine wasn't working so we had to scrabble for cash. The cappuccino was good, the espresso was not hot and bitter The cakes were disappointing, unfortunately so I guess they take yesterday's cakes cut them and place in display case to sell,which is refrigerated, so this makes the cakes very dry, and crumbly, the carrot cake did not have cream cheese frosting and thin icing which was cracked on the back, which is a sign of older cake, and paying over $8 I want fresh and moist and to die for taste!
